Sorry for the delay in getting back to the blog, but I have been too busy with the modifications to the car over the past year!

So what has happened!

Finally the car was on the road and track and perfroming well. Then tried to run at Bathusrt in April 2010 which was great for 6 lapps until the engine went!!

After 4 practive laps following a pace car we were finally allowed out into the track. but the clutch was slipping big time, then on the final run thru the esses, smoke and oil... the oil pressure dropped until down the mountain straight and no oil pressure so turned it off and rolled into the pits..

Well $7K later and new engine!!! The rear seal had gone and put oil onto the clutch which then heated the crank and required a new crank....

As it was only a 1098 and after checking only 1.75' crank it wasn't worth the effort of rebuilding into a 1098, so move to a 1275.

Purchased a 1275 standard motor from Colin Dodds of Sprite parts and we stripped it, honed it, new every thing!!!

Now we have a new engine that is still being run in.

Next time I will catch you up on how we are going in 2011,

cheers

almost ready
Welcome to the Wicked Wazza Racing Web site!

This site will show case the exports of the Wicked Wazza Racing Stable. From small beginnings the wicked wazz stable has been building a little Austin Healey Sprite Mk3 1965 racing car to complete in the local racing circuit here in Sydney.

I originally brought the little Red car from my Brother-in-law in 2007 after it had been sitting around for 13+ years after a little crash on Clevland Street, Sydney. The car had been completely reworked with new floors, panels and engine modifications for a daily driver, however it hit a wall and never started again until 14 years later.

The front rails were smashed, including bonnet and front guards and front apron.

When I purchase it, it was in a sorry but workable state. Over the next 18 months I rebuilt the little car from dozens of box full of parts where the previous owner started to strip the car down. So the slow task of reassembly started with the great assistance of my wife Annie, my brother in laws Greg & Sister Greg.

Finally the car started without even inspecting the engine, which has been sitting for some 15+ years and it fired first time!

Then work started on the panels which were all second hand and needed allot of work, including learning to spray paint in my back yard!!! The only time the car left home was to rebuild the rusted our A pillars on both side, as I aren't a welder decide to outsource this to rust repair Ironbin in Marrickville.

Next time, the final days...

box of stuff      more stuff
